Where to begin…? Let’s start with some background info on the mixtape. I was originally planning to release the first UGC mixtape (containing new & exclusive material) at the end of last year, in celebration of my migration from blogger to wordpress. I pretty much had everything set up, except for a few tracks that were missing. “Some people” (I’m not going to drop names) missed the deadline, so I rescheduled the due date. Days went by, a couple weeks went by… and I still had no answer. I waited just a little bit longer, thinking patience is a virtue. Plus, I had other important stuff to worry about (e.g. school). Eventually, some came through and others were still like “I got you. I’m about to hit the studio next week…” Aaand after that, I sort of neglected the whole project.
Now, the reason why I’m cancelling the mixtape (for the time being) is because I feel like that the tape is not complete. It doesn’t fulfill my expactations (insert your fancy/monocle guy meme HERE). I’m still planning on dropping the project, but not any time soon. I will keep you updated.
Among all the negativity, there is good news! I’m seriously thinking about launching a forum for Underground Charisma, since I don’t have time to update the site every hour. Also, I couldn’t leave y’all hanging, so I put a new mixtape together – which features some of my favorite 2011 releases.
